You cant just build a website and hope it works!

Like any business your website needs some effort from you if it’s going to be a success. You would be foolish to just build any website and hope it works. But this approach, or rather lack of strategy, is still prevalent on the Internet. Businesses still don’t seem to understand what the Internet can do to benefit them and their customers. They just don’t get it.

This is not a new criticism, people have said it for years. Notice we used the word people, because thats exactly suffering. You, me and the millions of people like us who visit these sites during our virtual tours. Many of these companies actually have great products and services to offer us, it's just that they have not put effort into finding out what we, their customers want. They have not bothered to find out about us, about our needs, our desires. They have other more pressing priorities, it seems. So they just present them to all of us old way, and hope we don’t notice or are too stupid to notice. Don’t they understand they are losing sales, customers, repeat customers, referrals and much more?

Whether your company has an entire team working on your website or just you, it will take some effort and commitment to get to a point where your website is satisfactory your customers. A website where you have a direct conversation with your visit potential customers. A conversation where they feel you are talking directly to them. A conversation where they feel you understand them. You understand their needs and desires like no other company has done before. In short,. A place where you connect with your customers and they connect with you a place where you are totally focused on them, not you. Not on your products, not on your credentials or ego, not about anything else about you.

For example, instead of simply describing the information about your products, present your information in a way that is valuable to them. Of course they will like to know what your products do and some key information about how it works, etc. But to them, so they know instantly and precisely how they benefit from it: how much money they will save with it. How much time they will save with it. How it will make their lives better. How it will make their lives easier, etc.

The focus wholeheartedly on your customers is not easy, it takes time, motivation, commitment and innovation. As we suspect, ultimately, why it does not always get done. Don’t let this happen to your website. Do it well and you will see results. But be sure of what you have to assume the responsibility to do as much as you possibly can if you want to see those golden results. Ensure your customers visit is a positive that will remain fresh in their minds for some time.
