Dell Refreshes Latitude E Series with Intel Chips

Dell has introduced the new line up of Latitude E series refreshed with Intel Arrandale processors. Two Dell Latitude E series models - E6410 and E6510 - are the first models in this refreshed series. These will have DDR3 RAM. These two laptops will feature Latitude ON technology which will be like Instant On user interface that connects the system to the web. Dell will sell the E6410 at a price starting at $1,129 and E6510 starting at $1,164 respectively. New E6410 has a 14.1 inch WXGA anti-glare LED display, offering 1280x800 pixel resolution. Users will get to choose between 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M, 2.53GHz Intel Core i5-540M and 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M processor for this laptop. One can add up to 8GB DDR3 memory and up to 500GB 7200RPM HDD for storage. Packing basic Intel HD graphics, users will also get to update this laptop with Nvidia NVS 3100M 512MB GDDR3 discrete graphics. On the other hand, 15.6-inch HD anti-glare LED display bearing Dell E6510 gives users an option to choose CPU between 2.53 GHz Core i5-540 and 2.66GHz Core i7-620M as well as low power 1.6GHz Core i7-720QM and 1.73 Core i7-820QM. Even in E6510, one can add up to 8GB DDR3 memory and up to 500GB 7200RPM storage. Again, this laptop has Intel HD Graphics by default and can be updated to Nvidia NVS 3100 512MB GDDR3 discrete graphics. Both Latitude E series notebooks will have optional Blu-ray drive, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0 optional, 6-in-1 card reader, PCMCIA & ExpressCard 54 slot, four USB 2.0 ports of which one supports eSATA. For taking HD video to larger screen, Dell offers DisplayPort instead of HDMI. These new Latitude E series notebooks will come with 4-cell battery packs which are upgradable to 12-cell battery pack. For operating system, one can choose between different versions of Windows 7 and Vista.
