India's leading information technology services firm, Infosys has signed a deal with the Microsoft to manage its internal IT services in about 104 countries fro a period of three years.Infosys said in a statement on Tuesday that the deal is "a unique opportunity to partner with Microsoft IT and gain deep and early expertise in the implementation and management of the latest Microsoft technologies."Infosys has already partnered with the Microsoft in some projects said it will try to bring down costs and simply services by using Microsoft tools such has Windows 7.Analysts say that the deal would competitive advantage to Infosys globally as the company will have early access to the Microsoft technologies. Infosys will not only be ahead or everyone else but will help shape the future of Microsoft products.Microsoft has remained largely silent is trying to downplay the deal to say that it has maintained the ratio of outsourced and internal services. Microsoft spokesperson explained that the deal only consolidation of work as now only vendor will provide the services instead of multiple vendors earlier. The sportsperson continued that the company will maintain internal resources and the deal is a good opportunity for it to minimize costs. "The integrated solution developed by Infosys, combined with process compliance, a robust tool platform and the creation of a Service Excellence Office will help us enhance how we deliver end-user computing services to our internal employees and partners, while leveraging the innovation and investments we make in developing new technologies," said Jim DuBois, General Manager of Service Management, Microsoft. Microsoft is very serious on saving costs and is looking for ways to simplify procedures and cut down expenditure. The company had said that the Windows 7 had the potential to save significant user support costs for the company.
