And if your computer can go to OS collect any information about your Internet dial-up or cable or network connections before proceeding and backup important data or software. So let's begin!

Step 1: Restart your computer and insert your start-up disk in 3 1 / 2 "floppy drive.

Step 2: Wait until your computer starts up with start-up disk. After it loaded all diagnostic applications and drivers will display a menu. Scroll down to start the computer with CD-ROM support and press enter.

Step 3: Then it will show the A: / prompt. To format your C: / drive, type format c: /. It will show: All data on non-removable drive will be lost! Continue? - Type y and then it will begin to erase your hard drive data.

IMPORTANT! Make sure your windows c.d. is not an upgrade! If so, use c.d. that came with your computer and then use the upgrade.

Step 4: After this is done, it will show: Volume Label: type in a desired label to your hard drive. If none, press enter. Then insert your Windows 9x, ME, XP c.d. in CD-ROM and type in D: / to go to C: / prompt.

Step 5: Enter setup, and then load the configuration of Windows 9x or WinME, XP.

Step 6: Follow the instructions on screen.

Step 7: Now reinstall all the drivers and software using your backup disks or original CD's

If you do not have back-up disks, your in trouble, but most of the things is the original CD's except software you've downloaded or received on-line or personal / important documents.

See the documentation for your computer if you have problems installing drivers or software that came with your computer.
