Cops Stop Door-to-Door Scam In a story straight out of "The Music Man," police in the San Francisco Bay Area have busted a scam in which two men claiming to be freelance salesmen went door-to-door and sold fraudulent electronics out of the back of a minivan. According to the area's NBC affiliate, the men sold boxes with "Sony TVs" that turned out to be filled with wooden blocks, while boxes labeled "computers" turned out to be broken. The scam was stopped when police were called and searched the van; the two suspects claimed they were selling "gag gifts." Two Sought in Colorado Best Buy Robbery Two men in the Denver area are being sought after robbing a Best Buy and assaulting an employee. According to the CBS4 station in Denver, the two men stole a pair of hard drives. One store employee attempted to tackle them but fell while doing so, while when another tried to stop them, one suspects cut two of her fingers with a knife. Police: Walmart Employee Stole $10,000 Police in Salem, Va. say a Walmart employee stole at least $10,000 from the store over a six-month period, mostly by "under-ringing" items. According to WDBJ, police say the cashier's two accomplices, her boyfriend and niece, would arrive at the store and underpay for items.
