1st master degree in Aerospace Engineering

NANYANG Technological University (NTU) and German university Technische Universit�t M�nchen (TUM) on Friday launched Singapore's first master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.The highly specialised programme aims to meet demands of the growing Asia-Pacific aerospace sector, which garnered US$22 billion in total revenues last year. It is a figure that is expected to triple by 2030. The NTU-TUM Msc Aerospace Engineering programme will be taught by faculty members from NTU and TUM, and be offered on a full-time basis. The first intake is expected to begin in August this year, with an initial cohort of 30 students. Said Professor Ling Shih Fu, Chair, School of MAE, NTU: '[This] programme is in line with the Economic Development Board's plan to develop Singapore into an aviation hub. We envisage that employment opportunities in Singapore and the region would be excellent.'Added Professor Schilling, Vice-President of Technische Universit�t M�nchen: 'Our collaboration with NTU... takes us closer to our mission of increasing the number of high calibre programmes offered and opens new areas of academic exchange in fields of science, engineering and technology.'
