Vodafone New Zealand says that, like its predecessor, the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 is sure to prove popular with businesses and high powered executives. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is supported by the company’s 900MHz extended 3G network. Vodafone’s 3G Extend network operates in 97% of the places New Zealanders live work and play and switches over automatically to the 2G network, should 3G be unavailable. Significantly lighter, the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 has slimmed down – flaunting a new sleek and stylish design. Its new 3.2MP camera and trackpad navigation also make for easy use. BlackBerry core strengths around email and web functionality remain as key features within the device. High-speed connectivity via Vodafone’s 3G extended network, allows customers to browse the web or view email attachments faster than before while Wi-Fi support enables the BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone to access any available hotspots. More recently, BlackBerry App World has also become available to New Zealanders – providing access to a growing number of applications designed specifically for BlackBerry users. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 retails for NZ$1099 (device only) and is available immediately through Vodafone stores nationwide or online at vodafone.co.nz. The BlackBerry Bold 9000 will be phased out across all stores and replaced with the 9700 moving forward.
